INVITATION
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 8 th International Workshop on Trichoderma and Gliocladium, we take great pleasure in extending an invitation to you to visit Hangzhou in September 2004. We are honored to organize for the first time the workshop in an Asian country.
We look forward to hosting as many of you as possible for an inspiring exchange of ideas and information with focus of the Workshop topic: TRICHODERMA AND THE ENVIRONMENT . The scientific program will contain several sessions: Diversity and Systematic, Role in Natural Ecosystems, Applications and Biotechnology in Agriculture and Industry, Proteomics and Genomics, and Trichoderma in Developing Countries.
In addition, we will offer the opportunity to enjoy site-seeing tours in the beautiful West Lake region and visit many cultural highlights of Hangzhou and Zhejiang Province .
We warmly invite all of you to Hangzhou for an exotic and exciting scientific and cultural experiences.

Abstracts and Presentation
Research papers or abstracts are encouraged to submit. Abstracts should be submitted in electronic form to xutong@zju.edu.cn or to lorito@unina.it by 15 June, 2004 . The documents of abstracts must be edited with Microsoft Word for Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. The abstract should include title, author's names, organization, address, and e-mail address. Please prepare in Word in Times New Roman: Title-bold and 14 pt; Author-bold and 12 pt; Address and Text-10 pt.
Proceedings of the Workshop will be published on Journal of Zhejiang University.
For oral presentation audio-visual equipment is available, PowerPoint presentation is recommended. The presentation material should be prepared in Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP version. If you would like to give an oral presentation please contact one of the two persons above by 31 May 2004 .
Poster presentation. Poster dimensions are 1.2 m wide and 1.2 m long.

Location:
* Hangzhou , the capital city of Zhejiang Province in China , 200 km far from Shanghai .
You can reach Hangzhou by airplane (direct flight connections to Hangzhou are from Hong Kong , Beijing , Bangkok , Seoul , Tokyo and Singapore ); from the Shanghai Pudong International Airport , you can easily reach Hangzhou by bus.
Hangzhou area is the hometown of rice and fish, also famous for the tea and silk production. The beautiful West Lake in the city is nice place around year for tourists from home and abroad.
Weather
September is the best season in Hangzhou, China and daytime temperatures is range from 25 ° C to 32 ° C.
Visa
Participants requiring an entry Visa for China are strongly advised to apply in their own country, at least three months before the date of the Workshop.
